Harvard Family Research Project found a direct link with parental involvement and a student’s success at school. L’Etoile du Nord is rated in the top 3 of St. Paul public elementary schools (www.greatschools.net).

PTO fundraising is a necessity at LNFI. Why you ask? None of the following would exist as they are fully funded by the PTO:

• Intern Program - 65% of PTO’s annual funds
• After school enrichment programs (e.g., Destination Imagination, Drama Club, Math Olympiad, Drama Adventure) - 23%
• School social events such as the fall open house, Grandparents Day, and end-of-the-year picnic - 6%
• School supplies for the classroom - 5%
• PTO communications (e.g., Quoi de Neuf, directory) - 1%

The benefit of contributing a lump sum is that your contribution is tax-deductible. If your employer does an employee match contribution, this will double your impact.

Whether it’s through fundraising or a lump sum contribution; the PTO needs an average of $130/student (approximately $260 per family) to continue to provide all of the sponsored activities at LNFI. We realize this is a substantial amount of money for many families - especially around the holidays. This is only a guideline for those looking to donate. Any financial contribution is important. The PTO is volunteer-run, so 100% of your donation is used directly to fund school programs.
