| | | About Madame Harberts | | | | Here I am at age 6 | This is my first Year at L'Etoile du Nord and I am very excited to be here. I come from Minneapolis and have taught there for the last three years. Prior to that I taught in Early Childhood for seven years while I was working on my teaching license. I am the mom of two teenage boys, so there are never dull moments at home. In my free time I enjoy marathon canoe training and racing, also skate skiing in the winter months. As a child I grew up in San Francisco and learned my French at the French American Bilingual School. I attended five years of public school in Marin County, California before my family sailed to Hawaii where I went to college for my first time. After living on Maui for sixteen years we moved to Minnesota. My suitcase is packed and I'm ready to travel, as it is in my blood, because I was born in Athens, Greece. I have been to some French speaking countries, such as the Marquesas Islands in 1977, Tahiti in 1986 and 1990, Quebec for marathon canoe races in 1999 and 2000; I've been to Shanghai, China in 2004 for Womens Masters Dragonboat Races and Auckland, New Zealand for World Outrigger Canoe Races.
