Between 1997 and 2002, M. Berg spent the majority of his time in Italy, France and Germany working and studying. He is fluent in French, Italian and German and is communicatively proficient in Spanish having spent the summer of 2005 in South America studying the language and culture. M. Berg spent tow years as a sous chef in an Alpine Italian restaurant. He lived in Paris for over a year, attending L'Alliance Francaise, working for Where-Paris Magazine and privately tutoring English. He also studied abroad in Northwestern Germany and has traveled extensively throughout Europe. In 2004-2005 M. Berg completed service for Americorps literacy program aimed toward helping elementary-aged students throughout the Twin Cities.
M. Berg enjoys traveling as well as creating and performing music, playing violin and guitar in a local Minneapolis group. He hopes to provide proficient library service as well as a rigorous and unique experience for the students at L'Etoile du Nord.
